Developing a Personal Learning Network

Personal Learning Networks also known as PLNs are connections you form with other educators that challenge you to learn and continue to become a better educator yourself. It's important to develop these relationships to learn new ideas and be a connected educator. To be a connected educator you must reach out to other in your content field and make connection whether via social media or a different platform. With all the different social media outlets in our current society being a connected educator is easier than ever. Through forming PLNs with other art educators I hope to gain insight on new teaching methods and keep the projects for my students fresh and exciting. It's my goal to use this blog to follow the blogs of other artists and stay continually inspired. I also will use Instagram to follow the projects of other art teachers as a way to stay up to date on what they are doing in their classrooms day in and day out. With the addition of Instagram stories its easy to see snippets into the lives of every day classroom activities. For artists Instagram is useful because it has a strong visual presence that can be beneficial for show casing artwork.
